We hope to see you all next week during Service Week!

Our guests are officially arriving! We have had several eggs now hatch into the second stage of a trout's life cycle, the sac-fry stage.
They will remain a sac-fry for about 30 days while they use up the yoke that they are attached to. After that they will start swimming up and feeding, then we can release them into the tank.

SAVE THE DATE! The Fourth Annual 3x3 Basketball Tournament is two months out. More information regarding registration to come, hope to see you all there!

Our 4th graders have been testing the water in our tank to make sure the environment is just right for our guests! Hopefully our guests will show themselves very soon because they are past the due date we calculated...stay tuned.

Would you like to donate an auction item for our 2025 Service Week?

Service Week Night Activity Updates!
Monday: Movie Night
Tuesday: Bingo
Wednesday: Dodgeball Tournament
Thursday: Support our HS Wrestling Duals

High Plains Power has gone above and beyond for the youth in their community. They have made two significant contributions to the Wind River wrestling team that have made a huge positive impact on the entire wrestling team. High Plains Power made a generous donation to help us in hosting our Don Runner wrestling tournament. In addition to their support with the Don Runner, they also made a second donation to our wrestling team which allowed our team to purchase a unique wrestling light specific to the sport of wrestling. Wind River Schools, wrestling program, and all of the wrestlers could not be more thankful for the generosity and investment into the youth of Fremont County shown by High Plains Power. Every wrestler knows the bonuses a wrestling light adds to the environment and feel during a wrestling match, as well as the improved confidence it can give to a wrestler when wrestling “under the light!” The reaction and excitement of the team when the light was first turned on was a priceless moment that a coach will never forget. From our hearts at Wind River to yours at High Plains Power, all we can say is, “Thank you. We love it!”
Pictured below is the CEO of High Plains Power, Board Members, and Wind River Wrestling Team!

End of week two and no major changes to our guests, but they do look a little bigger and you can definitely see some eyes! Our 4th and 5th graders did the math calculations to determine when they may hatch, and it looks like it will happen this weekend...so stay tuned!

There are a couple of fun activities coming up. There is a fly casting class at Shoshone Boys and Girls Club on January 19th from 1-3 pm. There is also a Northern Arapaho Language class that will meet weekly on Saturdays from 10 am-1 pm at 1202 South Federal Blvd. See details below.

Our 2nd grader artists are predicting what our trout will look like!

Third Graders have been studying weather in Science. They became engineers of their own design that could potentially help with Wyoming road conditions. They then received a visit from WYDOT! The students were able to take a tour around the snowplows, ask questions regarding their own designs to see if they had any advice to offer, and then they were able to try out the driver's seat while taking a look at the cab. Thank you, WYDOT for such a great demonstration!

It is time for our community to come together and support those in need!
On December 17, 2024, Barbara Clapp and her twin sister Beverly Raymond were involved in a severe car crash. These sisters have been longtime residents of our community and graduated from Morton High School almost 67 years ago! Both sisters sustained multiple broken bones from their ankles to the face that have required multiple surgeries. Along with the broken bones, Barb also sustained a punctured lung. Bev was recently released to continue rehabilitation, however Barb still remains in the hospital and continues rehabilitation. Both sisters face months of recovery and rehabilitation. We hope to be a support to these long time community members in helping to offset their medical expenses. Oh, did we mention they turn 85 on the 22nd of January!
Please join us in supporting Barb and Bev through after school activities listed below as well as through our online auction.
Please contact the School at 307-856-7970 to donate items or for any other questions.

Today is National Law Enforcement Day!
We would like to thank our SRO for everything he does for our school and community! Thank you for keeping us safe!
If you see Chewy around today, please let him know how much he is appreciated!

Any guesses as to who our new guests are here at Wind River Elementary?!?
Students and Staff are very excited!
