HELP YOUR CHILD BE A SUCCESS
The first quarter has ended, grades have been posted and parent/teacher conferences were Oct. 26-27. If you were not able to visit with your child’s teacher(s) please contact them through email or school phone to set a time to discuss your child's academic progress. As we enter into the second quarter, there are several ways you can help your child be successful at school and on target academically:
Make sure your child maintains excellent school attendance.
Help your child be organized. Review their planner/canvas calendar daily to help them remember homework assignments and to keep in touch with what is happening in the classroom.
Establish a homework routine. Set up a consistent place and time for homework to be done. Check homework with your child.
Review your child’s grades and academic behaviors often. Keep in mind that a failing grade can be an indication that your child is not completing classroom and/or homework assignments. Grade and academic behavior information can be monitored using Infinite Campus and Canvas. Contact the office if you need assistance accessing this information.
Contact teachers when your child has a failing grade and/or when you have concerns about your child’s performance at school. Teacher contact information can be found on our district website at: www.fremont6.org
Encourage your child to read. Through books, your child can be introduced to exciting and interesting people, places, cultures, and ideas.
Be in tune to your child’s future plans and dreams. You can help make the connection that good habits now will aid in reaching his/her goals.
Set a solid routine for your child’s sleep habits so they receive the appropriate amount of sleep each night.
We understand the importance that our parents, community, and school play in educating our children. Together we can help every student learn at high levels in a safe and positive environment. Go Cougars!
