Recent graduate, JayCee Herbert and junior, Cora Remacle participated in the 2023 Great Southwest Track & Field Classic on June 1st in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Athletes from around the state are nominated to attend this meet, where they feature the top track and field athletes from the west side of the country. Over 500 athletes participated, many who come from 4A through 6A divisions. Those are some big schools for our Wind River athletes to compete against. JayCee and Cora held their own. It was an amazing experience for them! JayCee participated in the 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, and 400 meter dash. Cora participated in the 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, and the triple jump. This opportunity exposed them to great competition. They also got to watch events that are not done at Wyoming track meets. Congratulations, JayCee and Cora! Cora is in the white jersey. Wind River High School Volleyball Team held a youth camp for 4th - 7th graders this week. These campers are the ones who will be playing for the youth and middle school teams next year. Head Coach Sarah Remacle talked to the girls about the importance of two factors that she is looking for when they get to high school: Be Coachable and Don't Cut Corners - off or on the court. The campers worked with the high school players and upcoming 9th graders on fundamental skills and working together as a team and then ended the camp with lots of scrimmaging. One of the high school players stated, "I can't believe how much the girls have improved in three days!" Thank you for letting us work with your kids and share our love of volleyball with them. Go Cougars!

As the school year ends, we are finishing up with the last of the skulls for this school year at Bugs N Bones. We have left tons of messages for people to pick up their skulls, so it will most likely be done, but call and double check before you come! If you have decided that you no longer want your skull, we would love to have it donated to the art department for next year's art symposium. Thanks for your support.

Many of the students tried out the Fatal Vision Goggles at the Fremont County Sheriff's Office booth. Maelyn Spoonhunter attended a workshop on Solving Crimes where she learned about fingerprinting and Crime Scene Laboratory work. Even Mr. Harms gave the Fatal Vision Goggles a try.
