Good morning! I just wanted to send out a reminder that this Wednesday, November 15th, is our Dance Showcase. Dancers can come to the school at 12:30 pm for stew and fry bread in the high school cafeteria. The assembly will be in the high school gym at 2:00 pm. Next week Wind River Schools is celebrating Native American Heritage Month with dress up days!
Monday is "Rock Your Mocs" --students that don't have moccasins can wear their favorite funky shoes, slippers, or boots.
Tuesday is "Native Bling"--if you don't have beadwork, wear some fun fake shiny bling.
Wednesday is Wear Red for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons. Everyone can wear red!
Thursday is Ribbon Skirts and Shirts--If you don't have these things, then come dressed in a fancy outfit.


Drama will present their fall Showcase "Verses" on Friday, Nov. 17 and Saturday Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. Come enjoy an array of comedic and dramatic scenes that show the skills we have been working on this semester. Admission is a suggested donation of $5-$10. Hope to see you there!


Wind River Cougars advance to the War Memorial Stadium to play for the State Championship title against Big Piney Punchers! They are scheduled to play Saturday, November 11th at 1pm in Laramie. Admissions will be $11 for adults and $8 for youth/students. Good luck Cougars!!


The MS girls basketball game against Arapahoe on Thursday, November 9th has been CANCELED due to their numbers! Sorry for any inconvenience and please spread the word!


State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Megan Degenfelder visited Wind River this week to take a look at innovative programs available in the district. Ms. Degenfelder visited with Robotics students in the middle and high school to learn more about the program as well as the Bugs 'n Bones classroom setup. This visit was a part of Superintendent Degenfelder's WDE Strategic Plan, released earlier this year, furthering the initiative on valuing and supporting teachers.






Wind River High School senior Cora Remacle was chosen for the Wyoming Department of Transportation and Wind River Intertribal Council-DOT Blizzard Brigade as part of the “Plow Personalities” contest in September. More than 30 art students from around the state were selected to paint the scoops of snowplows as part of this contest. Remacle showcased her artistic talents by painting a snowcapped mountain scene including a horse and rider. Great job, Cora!






Thursday night we had a good turnout - let's do it again! Basketball Open Gym in the MSHS gym Tuesday, November 7 from 3:30 to 5:20 for students grade 7-12 who are not currently participating in a school sponsored athletic program. Bring court shoes and dress appropriate to play basketball.

Wind River Cougars head into the semi finals tomorrow, November 3rd at 2pm against Southeast Cyclones! We will be selling walking tacos! The game will be held at Wind River High School and is a WHSAA event which charges admissions. $5 for adult, $3 for students, and children 5 and under are free. Come out and support the Cougars!


Wind River Schools will have a JOM/IEC meeting on Wednesday, November 1st at 6:00 pm in the Middle School/High School Student Center. The committee will be finalizing details for the upcoming Dance Showcase on November 15th. Hope to see you there!

Student artist of the month for November is Wambli Romero. Wambli is a twelfth grader and is enrolled in Drawing & Painting I. He is working on a project called "Ceiling Tiles", which is an assignment where he selected a famous artist and paint to put on a ceiling tile. After high school, Wambli plans to attend the University of Wyoming. Congratulations!


Wind River Cougars dominated the Round 1 Playoff game against Niobrara County Tigers winning 68 to 9! Huge congratulations to the team as they head into Round 2 Playoffs, which will be held at Wind River on November 3rd at 2pm against the Southeast Cyclones. We hope to see you all there!


The Wind River Cougars Varsity Basketball team is proud to be putting on a mini camp for school kids grades 3-6. Kids will learn the basics of dribbling, passing, defense, and shooting. Each child will receive a T-shirt and an autographed mini basketball by the Cougars basketball team.
