Unity Retreat
Fourth grade students put their math skills to work, using fractions to make gingerbread cookies. Students will deliver their tasty treats to community members when they go Christmas caroling on Thursday. Thanks to Ms. Wanda and Mrs. Baker for helping the students with this project.

This year our students are hosting a Christmas Toy Drive and a Canned Goods Competition for community projects for Christmas. To add a little fun, this is a class competition for all classes in the High School. Please help your student and community with bringing toys and canned/animal food! On December 7th, the Wind River Wrestling team assisted the town of Pavillion putting up Christmas tree ornaments and lights in the park. The team had fun helping out the community and giving back in a small way!

Our Boys & Girls Wrestling Teams are gearing up for their first tournament this weekend, December 13th-14th! Girls will be competing at the Cody Girls Invitational, which will be held at the Sweitzer Gym- Cody HS. Start time on Friday is 12:30pm and 9am on Saturday. The Boys team will be competing at the Powell Invite held at Powell HS. Start time on Friday is 12pm and 9am on Saturday. Best of luck!

Wind River Schools hosted the county wide Wind River UNITY (United National Indian Tribal Youth) meeting in November. This council is designed to help youth develop leadership skills as they work together to solve community problems through service, cultural awareness and heritage, environment, and healthy lifestyles activities. Mato Amos has been serving as the Male Co-Chair. Jonae Spoonhunter was elected as the Female Co-Chair for the upcoming year.

Wind River Schools celebrated Native American Heritage Month with a powwow sponsored by the JOM. Wind River students danced, judged, announced, and did the arena directing. We also had students from Riverton and Wyoming Indian participate.

Wind River students and staff participated in a week long celebration for Native American Heritage month. Activities included dress up days, making and eating fry bread, and students sharing the Pledge of Allegiance in Arapaho, Shoshone, and Navajo. Thanks to the JOM committee and the Multicultural Club for sponsoring this fun week.
