Middle School Track first practice is Monday, March 13th. Athletes need to have a completed sports physical, and be prepared for indoor and outdoor practice. Dress in layers - gloves, hat, shorts, sweats, indoor shoes/outdoor shoes, t-shirt, sweatshirt. They should have a water bottle at all times. Parents, please watch for the track schedule and expectation sheet to come home Monday night.

Senior Wylie Shearer has participated in basketball. He lettered in basketball and was selected All Conference and All State.
Wylie is a true asset to our school community. He is a very kind young man who supports those around him. Wylie has gotten a head start in college by taking college-level courses. He’s also a leader on the basketball team and is a role model for younger students. We are grateful and proud to have him as a Wind River Cougar! Although he hasn’t chosen a school yet, he plans to attend college and play basketball at the collegiate level.
Outside of school Wylie enjoys rodeoing.
REMINDER! Tomorrow is the Indian Education Potluck Dinner at 6pm in the high school Student Center. This is for all parents and guardians of Native American students. Please bring 506 forms and CIBs. We will vote on bylaws and determine priority needs of our students.
The Wind River HS Track season will begin tomorrow, March 6, with practice right after school.
The Middle School and Youth Track season will begin on March 13.
The Spring Sports Meeting that was scheduled for March 7 has been changed to a High School Track Parent Meeting.
The Wind River High School Varsity Boys Basketball team lost to Pine Bluff last night in the state competition 69-57. They will compete at Casper College at 1:30 pm today for third/fourth place against Tongue River.
Wind River Boys Basketball was invited to share their knowledge with the elementary students of Park elementary in Casper! They had 150 elementary kids involved in learning a defensive stance, shooting competitions, and learning the meaning of CHAOS. Proud to be a Cougar!
Congratulations to our Wind River High School Boys Basketball team on their victory last night against Wright at the State Championships. The final score was 74-68. The boys will go on to face Pine Bluffs tonight at 9 p.m. in the Ford Event Center in Casper.

CWC Discover Day! Did you know that Wind River High School Juniors and Seniors had the opportunity to visit CWC on February 8th? Students learned about college programs, student housing, financial aid, and recreational opportunities that are offered at the college.
FAFSA Fun! Did you know that Hattie Penny from UW EOC assists students in completing their Free Applications for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)? The FAFSA gives students access to federal grants, work study, and loans to assist students in paying for college.
All parents/guardians of Native American students are invited to our JOM meeting and potluck dinner on March 7th. Hope to see you there!

The Second Annual 3x3 Basketball Tournament is returning to Wind River School on March 10th at 4pm! All out of district or non-students must fill out a waiver to play. Registration packets (which include the waiver) can be picked up at the MSHS office or digital from Ms. Cottrill @ tcottrill@fre6.k12.wy.us Some changes were made for this year, in comparison to last year. Your feedback was heard and appreciated! There will be food and baked items available for purchase at this event.
