8th Graders finalized their research project last week with presentations sharing out what they learned about the career path they chose to explore. In Mrs. Remacle's ELA class, the 2nd quarter research unit requires students to follow all of the steps to quality research including writing research questions, finding reliable secondary sources, interviewing a professional in their field of study to use as a primary source, self-reflecting on what they learned, writing a research paper, and presenting their findings. Not only did they learn about something they were interested in, but the presentations from their classmates gave them an opportunity to learn about other careers, as well. Did you know that 75% of the population fears public speaking? It is important to get our students up in front of the class talking about what they know and present themselves well. The focus in MS ELA presenting is "you don't have to love doing it, but you NEED to know that you can do it!" Congratulations on your big presentations, 8th grade!
