It's homecoming week at Wind River! High school students, staff and community members paraded around Pavillion today celebrating their Cougar pride. The Wind River Cougars face off against tonight. We hope to see you there!

The Indian Education Committee will meet on Wednesday, October 4th at 6:30 p.m. in the MS/HS Student Center. The group would like to invite parents/guardians of tribally enrolled students to attend the Homecoming BBQ at 6 p.m. and then head to the Student Center at 6:30 p.m. for the meeting. FCSD#6 received $10,000 in Johnson O'Malley funds and will be planning activities for the school year.


Just a reminder for the BBQ tomorrow at 6pm: Freshmen bring sides, Sophomores bring hamburger buns (need 160 total) and hotdog buns (80 Total) and condiments, Juniors bring baked goods, Seniors bring sheets to wrap the WR. Thank you parents for your support!


Don't forget to swing by Wind River High School tonight for a smoked brisket dinner provided by our FFA Chapter! Dinner is $10 and will start at 6pm.


Wind River High School Juniors and Seniors visited the CWC College Fair today. All of Wyoming's colleges were represented as well as several colleges from bordering states. Students gathered information about programs, scholarships, tuition, and housing.






A huge CONGRATULATIONS to our Indian Education Committee for receiving a $10,000 Johnson O'Malley Grant from the Eastern Shoshone Tribe. These funds will be allocated by the parents/guardians of tribally enrolled students to meet student needs.

They will be displayed in the Student Center after they are finished.

Wind River's first ever community race is coming to you next Wednesday, October 4th! This race comes with a great cause, read on for details! Please fill out the Google Form below to register. Registration can be done prior to each race as well.

Purpose: To have a healthy community event that brings people together for some fun and competition while also adding value to homecoming week by raising money for a scholarship.
Participation (one of 4 pillars) Scholarship: Reward a senior who participates in a wide variety of extracurricular activities. They do not have to be the best but are willing to participate. ($500 or $1000 or whatever we raise via donation once costs are covered).
5k Course: Runners/Walkers will go through the youth course twice plus olive grove jag to finish
1.5 Mile Run/Walk: Runners will run the youth course
Awards: Top 3 male/female in short run and top 3 in 5k
Oldest Runner/Walker, Youngest Runner/Walker, Most Family Members Participating, Biggest Graduating or School Class (Example: Class of 97 or 2030)

Next week is Wind River's Homecoming week!
- Monday's drive in movie is free to the community. There will be dinner available for purchase from FFA, and concessions for sale during the movie.
- The community is welcome to the BBQ! We always need sides, so if you feel so inclined, please bring something to share with everyone. Students will be bringing some items, but our BBQ continues to grow each year!

- To have a float or ride horses in the parade, pick up a form from the MSHS front office! The more entries, the better!
- Out of District dance forms are due to the HS office NO LATER THAN 10/5!!!! The cost is $7 per person, and tickets can be purchased from Ms. Cottrill starting 10/2, or can be purchased when entering the dance.

Volleyball Highlight of the Week is for the whole team. Coaches have been pushing all athletes to self-reflect, work together, team build, and strengthen mindsets. Coach Remacle and Coach Griebel want to recognize the team growth that is happening every day, and they are proud of the work they are putting in. Everyone agreed that it's never a bad day when you get to end practice with a volleyball massage.
You can catch the Lady Cougars in Thermopolis on Friday and Saturday for the Bobcat Invitational!

Wind River Athletics are looking to get 30 round hay bales and 80 large square Hay bales. This hay will be sold and the proceeds will go to Wind River Athletic General Fund.
When donating hay please deliver it to the high school parking lot on September 30th at 8:00am. The bales will be loaded onto semi-trucks.
