Tips from the Guidance Counseling Office:
Now that we are entering the final quarter of the year, it is important to stay on top of your class work and a big part of that is to stay organized. Here are some helpful tips.
Create a daily checklist
Utilize a planner or calendar to track your upcoming activities and assignments.
Take notes of important information
Create a dedicated study space and develop a good routine for yourself
Break down tasks so they don’t seem overwhelming
Juniors & the ACT: All Juniors will be taking the ACT on Tuesday, April 8th at Wind River HS. Throughout the year, our teachers have been giving practice to the students, and we have also implemented ACT tutoring during our FLEX time. Please help encourage your student to get good rest the night before testing and to be on time that day (be here by 7:50 a.m. to eat). Mr. Walker will be cooking and serving breakfast to the class. After the test, the Juniors will be allowed to check out of school only with parent/guardian permission (call the school to let us know). Testing will be over around 1:30 p.m.
Wy-Topp State Testing: April 15th-May 9th is the window where students in grades 3rd-10th will be taking the State Assessment. Reading, Math, Science, and Writing will be assessed.
Senior Caps/Gowns: Senior Cap and Gown orders will be arriving at the school in a few weeks. Students will have the option of taking their caps home if they want to decorate the tops of them. Thanks to everyone for getting their orders in on time.
CWC Dual Credit College Classes: Students who are taking dual credit online classes are entering their final weeks. Please encourage them to finish strong and stay on top of their assignments, as these classes impact GPAs and can also impact future financial aid options.
ACT National Test Date Opportunities for 10th-12th graders: Please let Mrs. James know if you’d like to take the ACT so that she can help you secure a free voucher code from CWC BOCHES.
