Scholarship Search Tips for Seniors

When looking for scholarships, there are thousands of available scholarships for graduating seniors. When doing a google search, put in information that would be unique to yourself and your family such as the following. 

  • Your Major

  • Are you First-generation college-bound 

  • Ethnicity 

  • Specific Tribal Scholarships 

  • Scholarships for low-income students 

  • Volunteer opportunities 

  • What power company do your parents belong to ?

  • Organizations your parents are a part of 

  • Your employment 

  • Your parent's employment 

  • Medical circumstances 

  • Clubs/Activities you are involved in 

  • Athletics 

GRADUATION 2025 - Sunday, May 18 - 2 p.m. in the High School Gym

This is our last week's schedule for Seniors, so you all know what to expect.

Monday, May 12th

  • Regular Scheduled Classes

  • Starting at 1:00 p.m. in the Gym, there will be a Senior Recognition Celebration and Signing Day. All Seniors will be recognized for what they plan to do after graduation. Parents are also invited to attend.

Tuesday, May 13th

  • Regular Scheduled Classes

  • Seniors will transfer documentation from their school’s website to their personal emails.

Wednesday, May 14th

  • Regular Scheduled Classes

  • ALL Coursework needs to be completed by the end of this day for graduation

Thursday, May 15th

  • 11:00 a.m. -Seniors' last day- LATE arrival 

  • 11:00 a.m. -Pay any outstanding fines and dues, clean out lockers, and Ms. Sally wipes Chromebooks.

  • 11:35 a.m. -Lunch with Mr. Walker and Staff

  • 12:25 p.m. -Graduation practice in the gym

  • 1:25 p.m. - Graduates receive their Gowns and Caps

  • 1:45 p.m. -Senior Class Picture taken

  • 2:00 p.m. -Seniors will walk through the hallways of both the Elementary and MS/HS in their caps/gowns (they will start at the elementary school)

  • 2:30 p.m. -Seniors are dismissed

*Thursday, May 15th, starting at 6:00 p.m., we are having a Senior Awards/Scholarship Night in the HS Commons (invitations will be sent out to those students receiving a class achievement award or a scholarship. Hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be provided.                                                       

Sunday, May 18th- GRADUATION DAY!

  • Anytime from 12:00 p.m.-1:30 p.m. -Parents and/or graduates may set up their Senior tables in the HS Commons 

  • Graduates should arrive no later than 1:15 p.m. to prepare for the ceremony

  • Graduates will meet in the music room before graduation

  • Graduation starts promptly at 2:00 p.m.

  • Each graduate will have their picture taken as they are leaving the stage by a school staff member (Pictures will then be emailed to you the following week)

  • There will be time for each graduate and family members to take pictures in front of a set-up backdrop that we will have in the gym after the ceremony.

  • Refreshments will be provided in the commons following the ceremony as family and friends view the Senior tables.

Wy-Topp State Testing: April 15th-May 9th is the window where students in grades 3rd-10th will be taking the State Assessment. Reading, Math, Science, and Writing will be assessed. 

CWC Dual Credit College Classes:  Students who are taking dual credit online classes are entering their final weeks. Please encourage them to finish strong and stay on top of their assignments, as these classes impact GPAs and can also impact future financial aid options.

ACT National Test Date Opportunities for 10th-12th graders:  Please let Mrs. James know if you’d like to take the ACT so that she can help you secure a free voucher code from CWC BOCHES.  

  • July 12th (Registration by June 6th) at CWC

Hathaway Scholarships: Find further information on hathawayscholarship.org

  • Honors:  $1,680 per semester.  ACT score- 25 or higher and at least a 3.5 GPA.

  • Performance: $1,260 per semester.  ACT score of 21 and at least a 3.0 GPA.

  • Opportunity:  $840 per semester. ACT of 19 and 2.5 GPA.

  • Provisional:  $840 per semester. ACT of 17 and 2.5 GPA.

FAFSA (Federal Financial Aid): FAFSA is now open for those who plan on attending college. Please email sjames@fre6.k12.wy.us if you’d like assistance. We can connect you with Hattie Penny our local FAFSA expert. She takes the stress out of submitting this application for parents and students.
